What is Chi as it relates to Tai-Chi? This concept has baffled practitioners of Tai-Chi down the ages. It is often misunderstood to be the same as breathing. Masters of Tai-Chi know that it is real, and they feel their presence as they practice Tai-Chi. It is hard to learn because it is hard to teach a sensation. Using special sensors, researchers at HGR were able to measure the propagation of a Chi wave during a Tai-Chi movement. Using this technique, they were able to map the route of the Chi wave for each of the eight movements of the Hanlun <Human+Robot> Tai-Chi Push-Hands Routine performed on the Hanlun Push-Hands Robot. It is hoped that, with the graphic displays, the learner will find it easier to master the flow of Chi as he performs his Push-Hands Routine.
